Why Participate?

Why Participate in a Research Study?

  • You may gain access to investigational medications that are not otherwise available outside the study.
  • Before enrolling, you will be given all the details and information you need to decide whether a study is right for you.
  • Clinical trials conducted at Summit Research are carefully monitored for quality care
  • Your participation helps others in the future by contributing to medical research. Society may benefit from the information obtained from this research. Results from our studies are used to develop new investigational medications and improve current therapies, which may help you and others with similar conditions in the future.

What Do Participants Receive?

  • You may receive investigational medications that are not available to the general population
  • Study related medical care; depending on the study this may include psychological evaluation, cognitive assessments, medical evaluations, physical exams, lab work, diagnostic imaging (such as CT scans, MRI, or PET scans).  With your permission, the results of these evaluations and assessments may be provided to your primary health care provider
  • Ongoing study check-ups throughout the course of the study
  • Education and up-to-date information about your condition
  • Depending on the trial, a stipend or compensation for time and travel may be available

What Happens When I Finish a Research Study?

  • When you have finished your clinical trial, we will work together to connect you with appropriate referrals
  • Depending on the condition, a brief series of after-study care visits may be available.

All of these services are provided at no cost to those who qualify. No health insurance is required.
